Sununú partners with Festival Formula
We're very pleased to announce that we'll be working with Festival Formula and to welcome their founder Katie McCullough to the Sununú team!
Katie is the founder of Festival Formula Ltd, a consultancy company focusing on filmmakers covering festival strategy. They create personalised festival strategies taking into account length, production values, genre, stories in front and behind the camera, and budget limitations. She has hosted workshops and seminars for a broad range of audiences over the past ten years including: Encounters Film Festival, Shooting People, East End Film Festival, Independent Cinema Office, Cork Film Festival, Aesthetica Short Film Festival, BFI Flare, Glasgow Short Film Festival, LOCO London Comedy Film Festival, Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival, FilmFest Dresden, and many training events at the BFI Southbank.
Here are her first thoughts on our film:
“This short documentary charting the relationship between a transgender couple and their impending child is extremely heartwarming. The struggle to keep up their activism alongside parenthood is the backbone of the narrative, and the adoration they have for each other make this more about the relationship that the binary codes that define them. Of course the assets of this film means it can be submitted to the LGBTQ circuit, but also it should be focusing on documentary specific festivals too and some human rights festivals if their progamming remit allows. I actually appreciate that we see the determination and also inspiration that Diane offers with her activism and I feel like it's important that we see this side of the couple so that it isn't exploitative and purely about their Internet exposure. Festival Formula cannot wait to help get this out there and on the festival circuit."
We're very excited to see where Katie can take our film and we'll be sharing more news on Sununú's trip around the festival circuit as it comes.
